Picture Phillip Ferrari, Director of Golf At the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita
The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita has soared in popularity since its September 1999 opening, not only for its sumptuous resort setting, but also for its unparalleled private championship course at the Four Seasons Golf Club. The 7,014-yard Jack Nicklaus Signature course, with its renown 3B green on a natural ocean island, has made Punta Mita a veritable paradise for world- class golfing.
The Nicklaus-designed course is spread over 200 acres, and takes full advantage of its location on the Punta Mita peninsula. Eight holes border either the Pacific Ocean or Banderas Bay, and all holes offer ocean views. Along with the vistas across white coral sand beaches and of the surrounding Sierra Madre Mountains.
Golf legend and sole designer Jack Nicklaus says of the course, “The Four Seasons Golf Course at Punta Mita provides all of the challenge and exhilaration that players demand of a world-class resort, combined with the pure magic of ocean views, varied landscapes, and a unique environment.”
The signature island hole, 3B, is a par 3 hole with an ocean side tee overlooking the beach, and a green situated on an idyllic natural island 194 yards away. Driving the ball across the Pacific Ocean is a unique experience, as is getting over to the green to putt. At low tide, you can walk along a connecting rocky pathway over shallow waters. As the tide moves in, a staff member will shuttle you back and forth in an amphibious version of a golf cart.
We will open our second golf course Bahia on November 16th, with the addition of this
Jack Nicklaus-designed course,” says Director of Golf Phillip Ferrari, “makes Punta Mita, quite simply, the premier golf destination in the world.” This new course, which is the result of a close collaboration between the Nicklaus design team, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts and Dine, the Mexico-based developers, was designed to both challenge and delight golfers of all skill levels. “It’s an incredibly dynamic course,” Ferrari says,
According to Ferrari, who is recognized as one of the top club professionals working today, Bahia’s rolling fairways, dramatic bunkering and undulating greens will provide ample challenge for golfers of every skill level. The contour and movement that Nicklaus and his design team have incorporated into each hole will leave golfer’s hearts racing. “Each hole is memorable and distinctive,” says Ferrari.

Picture Miguel Carvalho, Director of Food & Beverage at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita
Miguel is from Alentejo, the Portuguese equivalent to the Spanish province of Andalucia, in the south of the Iberian Peninsula. Land of kind people, beautiful scenery, great traditions, hearthy food and great wine, Alentejo is probably the best kept secret in Europe presently.
I come from a family whose livelyhood has always been provided by agriculture . I became involved with Food and Beverage because my family has always had the cult of good food and good wines. An ordinary day in our house will always have a top lunch and dinner, with great delicacies and adequate wines. And any family meal has always been a celebration of life, many times just ourselves, but many others with friends and guests.
He have joined the four Seasons at the same time as he joined Punta Mita, which was in January of 2008. My previous appointment was Dubai, where I lived for just over 4 years.
His vision for the Dining at the Resort is to keep it simple and authentic.
On the food side, I strive to provide a very tasty meal, with top quality products cooked in the simplest manner possible in order to fully feature the super fresh flavours of the local fare.
