Hi Vesper. I just moved your question about traveling to India, and what kind of protection you'll need to the Ask Stephanie forum. I'm sure she'll have some great advice so stay tuned. I suspect she'll recommend both contacting insuremytrip.com for Travelers Insurance as well as Air Ambulance Card for emergency evacuation coverage in an air hospital (basically a flying hospital) back to your country (if US).

As far as security or protection while in India, that's a very interesting question and I'm sure Stephanie will have some input.
