We constantly receive great specials from NCL. Many of clients have sailed NCL and enjoy the diverse activities and dining options. They have some great new itineraries departing from NYC this year . . . AND the new megaship the Epic.

Hey Jay. I know you (and your wife and daughter) have been on many cruises, plus you have the added experience as a seller of cruises so you get feedback from your clients upon their return.
How would you rate the overall cruising experience on NCL from both perspectives? What other lines in the same price range have better or similar service? And if you were to make a suggestion for Kmurphy other than NCL, what would it be?

Hey Dru. We sail most cruiseslines often and travel by land whenever possible. NCL has a good product for the price. The problem being, like everything else in life . . . "you get what you pay for". NCL is a lower priced cruiseline. Most of the lower price cruiselines offer a lower price to get you onboard, then surcharge you to death once onboard. Sure, you can eat in their main dining rooms and give up the enticing Japanese, Steak, Seafood, Mexican, and anything else surcharged restaurants, but they are banking you will not. I do not want to disparage NCL or any other cruiseline. My advice to Kmurphy would be to contact a Travel Agent (we ARE Travel Agents, should you need an agency) and discuss the many choices available.
In light of the fact Kmurphy is sending his parents on a special voyage, I suggest he spend a little more money and as Emeril says: "kick it up a notch". You will not have to spend a lot more to get either a more inclusive cruise, or a more individualized, service oriented cruise. If you want to take the family on an inexpensive cruise vacation, NCL is fine. My suggestion is look around at all available alternatives. How about a nice Europe River Cruise?? A tour to a foreign land (with or without the cruise component)? A small ship experience (Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, Azamara, all offer small ship experiences at a low cost). Look around. |
