Discover Rensselaer County in New York State's Hudson Valley Region
Rensselaer is in the northern part of the Hudson Valley Region of New York State, just across the river from Albany.
Getting to Rensselaer is easy either by way of Albany International Airport, car, or Amtrak's Albany/Rensselaer station, which is actually in Rensselaer, not Albany.
The county has a great mix of urban and rural attractions and features. One nice aspect of either Troy or the city of Rensselaer is that while both are cosmopolitan and populous, you can get out into the wilderness of New York State within 5 miles.
