Bo's Full Bio:
Bo Winiker is a graduate of the New England Conservatory and plays trumpet, flugelhorn, and vibraphone. Bo has performed professionally for over 50 years, beginning his music career with a family band at only nine years old, where he played alongside his mother, father, and older brother. Under the direction of the renowned Gunther Schuller, Bo toured worldwide with the NEC's Grammy® Award-winning Ragtime Ensemble then completed an additional tour with the Stan Kenton Orchestra. He has soloed with the New York Philharmonic and the Cleveland Orchestra and recorded on the movie soundtrack “A League of Their Own” with Billy Joel. Bo performed at the White House for President Ford and at two Presidential Inaugurations for Presidents Carter and Clinton. In 2013, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of conducting and soloing at Boston Symphony Hall, where he led the Boston Pops Swing Orchestra during the opening night of both the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 Symphony Orchestra seasons. He helped Boston bring in the New Year in style, again conducting the Pops Swing Orchestra at the sold-out 2013 and 2014 New Year's Eve galas and will return to the stage for the upcoming 2016 celebration. He is best known for his band-leading, which can only be described as captivating.
