Cait's Full Bio:
Cáit Goaley was born and bred in Connemara, the region through which she now leads riders on equestrian vacations. An avid competitor in the disciplines of show-jumping, dressage, working hunter and eventing for many years, Cáit finally realized what she wanted to do for a living in her early forties! She turned her passion for the love of the Connemara pony and the beauty of their breeding ground into a tourism business and left behind 25 years of computer engineering.
Connemara is region steeped in history and rich in breath-taking scenery, deep-rooted culture and age-old traditions. The friendly, fun, welcoming and sometimes quirky nature of its people entices visitors to return time and time again. Her accommodation choices provide a selection of 4-star, award-winning country manors and castles along with her lakeside B&B offering the best hospitality and food in the region.
Her family has been immersed in the production of top quality Connemara Ponies and Irish Draught horses for generations. In the last decade, she started to refine her breed to produce an over-height Connemara pony, making it an ideal adult equine partner. She has untold knowledge of the Connemara region and great friendships with the characters that help make it what it is. She is equally as passionate about the area as she is the equines and believes there is no better way to experience the wonderful vista of mountains, rivers, lakes and bog lands of Connemara than from the back of a native horse or pony.
