Some basic rules to post by:

1. English is the official language for Travelers411 Forums. Please only post in English. Any messages not posted in English will be deleted.

2. Be polite and courteous to your fellow travelers.

3. Do not spam this list. Spamming is grounds for immediate account termination. We do allow commercial organizations to post promotional and PR literature to the site, however we ask that you limit these posts to just 1 forum post per item and that the content being posted is original and has not been posted to any other site on the internet.

4. Please keep posts PG. In the future there may be an adults only section, but in the meantime assume children will access all areas of this site.

5. Self promotion of your business or service is not permitted unless discussion of it is in direct relation to a valid post. Radio show guests who have been booked and approved for broadcast may post information to appropriate forums. If you are a radio show guest and have questions about what content is permissible in the forums please contact the producer who booked you.

6. User signatures may contain URL links to personal or business sites only if the signature explains what your relationship to the site is, as in the case of a professional signature including name, number, company name and company website. Abuse of this policy will result in us revoking this privelege.

7. Avoid "Me Too" posts. A "Me Too" post is a situation where a user replies to a thread with a message that does not materially add any new information to a thread. For instance, if a thread is about places to stay in Europe and a user replies "Thanks for all the great information guys", that post does not materially add to the conversation and may be subject to removal by the sites Admins. However, one exception to this might be if a thread, or posts within a thread, are specifically asking for other users to comment with a validation or verification of information, experience, etc. For instance, if a User starts a thread concerning a great travel experience they had and the posting user asks if other users have had a good experience as well, then it might be appropriate for users to reply with a "Me Too" post in that specific circumstance. One sure way to stay under the "Me Too" posting radar is to avoid frequent "Me Too" replies and try to only post meaninful replies to threads that do materially benefit community discussion.

8. When quoting a post or a portion of a post, do not inject code or otherwise alter the quote. That practice is misleading and might cause people to think the original post had injected the code. Altering a quote may result in the removal of your account.

9. Travelers411 and all subpages and sub domains are protected by US copyright law. We also strive to respect the copyrights of others. Please do not post material to this site for which you do not have proper permission from the copyright holder.

10. Do not post material that has been posted on other sites. If you wish to ask the same question or share an answer or information that has been posted elswhere, please paraphrase, rewrite or otherwise rephrase the text. If we determine that a post is identical to that of one posted on another site we will delete the post and the user account.
