Default Thread Title:  Does the Walking Dead Zombie Allure Draw You to Tana Toraja?

Your best bet for accurate and reliable information is the official Indonesian Government Tourism site which you can reach from this link:
http://www.indonesia.travel/en/desti...77/tana-toraja

This destination has gotten much attention because of the "sightings" of zombies but you will find that there appears to be an explanation for that. Known as the Island of Heavenly Kings, Tana Toraja, be aware of local customs which would include bringing a gift to those you visit which, while you might find it objectionable, might be cigarettes, or a food item. Often people bring things that represent where they come from but with rugged travels and restrictions on weight while traveling you might want to consider this thoughtfully. Roads are often rugged and jeep travel and walking is often the method of choice.

There are small hotels and you may want to have a confirmed reservation since the number of rooms is finite. I have invited a tourism leader for the region of Indonesia to reply specifically to your question and you might want to reply with specific questions you would also like answered so that we can get the up-to-date answer from what I consider a true "travel expert," that being someone who is involved in delivering the services to travelers in the region and whose opinions and recommendations you can rely as the region is their primary professional focus, as opposed to some advice from someone who heard about the place or passed through once upon a time. That way you'll have expert advice that you can have confidence in!

Firstly, let's get some specifics:
What time of year do you plan to visit?
How long do you plan to stay?
What country's passport do you carry?
How old are you?
How many others will you travel with and what are their ages?
When you travel, what is the level of your hotel/lodging expectation?
These answers will help give you answers that fit your lifestyle needs.
Best,
Your personal travel expert,
