Default Thread Title:  St. Thomas vs St. Lucia

Hi Stephanie! I listen to the show all the time and love it!

I'm planning a trip during Easter with my wife and 8 year old daughter, we're in the northeast and looking for a caribbean destination that is easy to get to and will also be fun for kids. We'd like to keep the total cost of the trip including airfare, hotel and food to under $3,500 for a 5 day trip. I'm figuring airfare is probably going to run about $700 ea roundtrip so that leaves $2400 for taxis, hotel, food and any excursions. We're not expecting really glamorous hotel choices but want to stay somewhere clean and safe, close to the beach if not on it, and accesbile for taking day trip with our daughter. Also, ideally this would be a place with other children around.

I'm hoping you have some great advice!

Default Thread Title:  Most economical way to go is All-Inclusive

Let me recommend Bolongo Bay Beach Resort in St. Thomas. . .right on the sand if you get downstairs accommodations. . . step out of your room and you're on the beach. The hotel has a very good restaurant snug against the pool and beach and you'll find lots to explore with the kids as well at Coral World, the St. Thomas Sky Ride, historic sites on the island and lots of tropical delights to explore. As an all-inclusive property, you won't have to put your hand in your pocket once you arrive at Bolongo Bay. You'll find lots of photos of the place in my Photo Gallery.

Because you are traveling with children and you're looking for a wealth of experiences, let me recommend Jamaica. Try Breezes Runaway Bay. All-inclusive, great beach, excellent children's activites, and wonderful places to visit including such terrific experiences as visiting and climbing Dunn's River Falls and rafting on the Martha Brae. Check out these Photo Galleries to get inspired!
