Default Thread Title:  Travel Agents Specializing in Travel for the Blind

Dear Jeff:
Hello from Ireland! For the moment, take a look at these avenues to assistance:
Try going to www.astanet.com, the official site of the American Society of Travel Agents. Here is the URL for the place on that site where you can request info on agents who specialize in specific areas:

http://www.asta.org/travelagent.cfm?navItemNumber=671

Also try the website for SATH, www.sath.org, an organization dedicated to removing obstacles for travelers with special challenges.

Let me know if we can help you further in connecting with the right people for your needs.

Best,
Your personal travel expert,
Stephanie Abrams

Default Thread Title:  Travel for the Blind

Hi Jeff!

You might want to try these three companies:

Firstly, American Star Travel . International has offerend tours and services for blind travelers yearly to worldwide destinations including cruises.
They can be reached at 508-815-4327

Mind's Eye Travel offers a range of travel opportunities for the blind and can be reached at 207-542-4438.

VisionOutdoor is a German-based company that specializes in nature tours with programs for the blind that have included, in the past, hiking in Iceland, canoeing in Finland and other outdoor adventures. The link above will take you to the English portion of their site.

There are now more tech-savvy tools to assist the blind traveler including 'Smart' First Aid Kits that speak to you and talking portable GPS systems to assist in location and direction finding.

Hope this helps!
