I'm always looking for good pet friendly hotels in the North East. Lots of big chains allow dogs but not all of them. Also many have restrictive policies requiring cages, or weight limits or that you not leave your pet unattended in the room.

Does anyone have suggestions for really friendly pet-friendly hotels in the N.E.?

Depending where in the northeast you are going will dictate where you can bring your pet. I have found that Vermont is very pet friendly, seems that most places along the New York border also next to Vermont is pet friendly. Sometimes there is an extra fee included in the room but it is worth it. Hotels are strange in the fact that some of them have no problems with pets and most seem like they are a plague. Travel brochures have helped us in the search for the pet friendly places or checking the online symbols also is a great aid.

Definitley share your experiences of dog allowances with us and I think I'd like to develope some sort of listing of at least 1 super pet friendly hotel in every city in the US. If everyone contibutes 1 positive experience we'll get there quick!

I had taken my Lab to a softball tournement and this hotel was not only
pet friendly but seemed to cater to the dog. They had given us extra chicken,burgers and anything they felt the dog would enjoy. They even worked with us when we went to the team dinner, they had someone check up on the dog. The dog was worn out by that time of the day so all she did was sleep till we came back but it was nice of them to work with us.

All Motel 6's are pet friendly. This definitely is not upscale, but they are accomodating.

Hi, thanks for the recommendations you have noticed in this topic. I was also on the search for a pet friendly hotel a couple of weeks ago, here I found one reservationcounter.com(won't mention which one since it could be interpreted as an ad..), but the most of them should be reliable when it comes to pets!
