Default Training katas at home

I just had an epiphone! Training katas at home, where the floorspace is less than ideal and you constantly have to shift around furniture and adjust the angles and rotational axis of the kata to accomodate the space you have without knocking over lamps and banging into furniture can in its own way really help you undestand how to use the kata techniques and rotations in a real world way.

I'm not sure I prefer having to do all this dancing around my furniture to training in a nice square dojo, but I'm thinking it does have some advantages in forcing you to learn the katas in a different way.

Thoughts?
