Sure we can help you out! Europes a big place with a lot of smaller countries each with a really different feeling so its anyones guess as to which countries might fit your personality the best. Lots of people do whirlwind tours of Europe by train or cruise spending a day or 2 in each country and that may or may not be something suited to your travel style.

I can make some suggestions of countries or cities you might like based on your age trip length and personality and what kinds of touristy things you are looking to do. Also if you can narrow the scope of countries you'd like to visit that would help to.

Definitely Europe is very big place, but in my opinion, the best cities to travel in Europe are-:

1.London, England
2.Paris, France
3.Amsterdam, the Netherlands
4.Goteborg, Sweden
5.Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic
6.Utrecht, the Netherlands
7.Vienna, Austria

I haven't been to all the cities in Denson's list but the first 2 are very large cities with the benefits of lots of culture, restaurants, lodging options, etc. Amsterdam, to me as a former NYC resident is kind of a medium sized city, with some great local flare, but definitely not the overwhelming cultural offerings of Paris, Rome, London, Madrid, etc.

It really depends if you are looking to explore a mega-city or a sleepy villiage or something in-between. Do you want to mad-dash through 20 amazing filled-to-the-brim Parisian museums or lounge on the Mediteranean coast in a village with not much more than a church and a main street.

In the USA it would be the difference between meandering around New England, popping into Mystic, Connecticut; Martha's Vinyard, Massachusetts; Nyack, New York; The Berkshires in Massachusetts with small towns like Ashford, Adams, and Great Barrington. Or are you more of a Boston, New York City, Atlanta kind of person and is looking for the equivalent in Europe.
