My fiance and I are planning a honeymoon to Thailand and Laos in July. Would you recommend that we invest in any sort of special travelers insurance, or would that generally be taken care of if we make purchases using credit cards? Which also begs the next question, what is the best for of payment when traveling Thailand and Laos?

Check you medical insurance to see what kind of coverage you have when out of the US. Look particularly at what is provided for medical evacuation in case of illness or accident. Most standard medical policies only provide for care at the 'nearest appropriate facility' which may be in a jungle!

I recommend you consider a strong medical evacuation option as well as cancellation or trip interruption for ANY reason which gives you broad coverage but you must buy the insurance within days or a week or so from the date you make your airline, tour or other plans or you can't get it!
