I confess I was never drawn to explore Ireland before, despite my family's Irish heritage. I can tell you now these are among the friendliest people in the world, and I am learning more about Irish history that has inspired me to learn more.
When are you going to write a travel book on Ireland?
Your traveling friend,
Dennis Q

What a lovely note to get from you! I wish you had contacted me before you left as I would have loved to have given you some guidance from "Herself the Elf" as to lodgings, restaurants, attractions, historic sites, uniquely Irish experiences and introductions to a host of amazing people that I'd love you to meet along the way! As for your business activities, it would have been nice to also introduce you as the VP of International Sales for NBC Orlando Resorts to scads of people in Ireland who would be great networking partners.
I just got off the phone with Joe O"Flynn whose family owns Rathsallagh Country House in County Wicklow which is a hop and jump from Dublin and I know he'd treat you like royalty if you showed up at the door. He's down the road a piece from Russborough House (russborough.ie) which is newly restored and I haven't even seen it yet. Rathsallagh Country House is near the Irish National Stud Farm and Japanese Garden and you can visit Powers Court Falls, House and Gardens on your way there. And if you want to try your hand at making Irish soda bread, tell Joe O'Flynn at Rathsallagh House to take you and your wife into the kitchen for a memorable culinary experience you'll remember forever!
While you're in Dublin, be sure to visit the National Library where the award-winning Yeats Exhibit (FREE) is amazing! It's walking distance from St. Stephen's Green. If I knew when you could be available to go to see it, I'd try to get Mark Leslie whose company designed the exhibit to give you a personal tour.
Are you going to get to the west coast of Ireland or to Northern Ireland on this trip? With 2 weeks to go you can make some serious tracks and I'd love to stick my 2 cents in it.
In any event, let me know where you are so I can catch up with you before you head back to the US! And when you get back, I want a debriefing on your trip and the date of when you're going back!
Hugs to you,
Stephanie
