Hi Stephanie! I listen to the show all the time and love it!

I'm planning a trip during Easter with my wife and 8 year old daughter, we're in the northeast and looking for a caribbean destination that is easy to get to and will also be fun for kids. We'd like to keep the total cost of the trip including airfare, hotel and food to under $3,500 for a 5 day trip. I'm figuring airfare is probably going to run about $700 ea roundtrip so that leaves $2400 for taxis, hotel, food and any excursions. We're not expecting really glamorous hotel choices but want to stay somewhere clean and safe, close to the beach if not on it, and accesbile for taking day trip with our daughter. Also, ideally this would be a place with other children around.

I'm hoping you have some great advice!

Let me recommend Bolongo Bay Beach Resort in St. Thomas. . .right on the sand if you get downstairs accommodations. . . step out of your room and you're on the beach. The hotel has a very good restaurant snug against the pool and beach and you'll find lots to explore with the kids as well at Coral World, the St. Thomas Sky Ride, historic sites on the island and lots of tropical delights to explore.
