Brattleboro Vermont Casual Fine Dining
Peter Havens is an unexpected treat in the bucolic town of Brattleboro, Vermont. On the outside you are greeted by a detached, loosely affiliated beer garden, perfect for light fare during Vermont's all too short summer and bumper seasons. Inside you will find two dining rooms with small table seating for about forty plus a small bar area where you can also order off the main menu. The outdoor area is limited to a special bar food menu, which is unfortunate if the draw is the more refined indoor menu.
Some of the treats on the menu included Oysters available by the piece and priced at $2.50/ea, Lamb Shank, Filet of Beef to name a few.
For this review we sampled the Oysters, Lamb, Filet, Garden Salad and a local beer selection called Mystic Draft. All items were excellently prepared, delicious and nicely portioned for a healthy appetite.
Pricing matches the somewhat upscale menu - expect $40+ per person.
Reservations suggested for indoor dining.
